The phrase “We need this hour” wasn’t part of a big campaign. It didn’t come from a brainstorming meeting or a marketing plan. It came from a moment—real, unscripted, and honest—shared by Pastor Lee during a Sunday morning message at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Nebraska.
The sanctuary was filled with real people, showing up with busy lives, heavy hearts, and the kind of tired that runs deeper than sleep can fix. And as Pastor Lee stood at the front of the room, he said what so many were already feeling:
“Folks, we need this hour.”
He went on to describe how, week after week, despite all the ways he had failed or fallen short, he still showed up. And every Sunday, he’d half-joke that surely Jesus was going to extinguish his tiki torch and vote him off the island. But instead, grace showed up again. And again.
The torch stayed lit.
He was still on the team.
And so were we.
That message—raw, relatable, and deeply true—stuck with people. And, over time, it became clear: this wasn’t just a throwaway line. It was a lifeline. A rhythm. A reset. It’s where grace meets truth, and where we’re reminded of the unchanging scoreboard: Jesus already won, which means we do too. But this moment isn’t limited to a building or a livestream. It’s found in conversations during long drives, quiet prayers at the dinner table, or laughs shared with a friend. It’s in the sacred moments God gives us every day—blessings disguised as connection, worship, and rest.
It’s not about where you are. It’s about carving out the time. Time to refill your cup, reset your heart, and reconnect with the truth of God’s Word.
